Stem Cell Therapy for Cardiac Repair

  1. Bioengineering Scaffolds: Scaffolds can provide a supportive environment for stem cells, enhancing their survival and integration into the damaged tissue.
  2. Genetic Modification: Genetically modifying stem cells to overexpress specific growth factors or modulate immune responses could enhance their therapeutic efficacy.
  3. Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs): iPSCs, generated from adult cells, offer a patient-specific source of stem cells that can be differentiated into cardiomyocytes for autologous transplantation.
