At least 17 patients in the United States last year were hospitalized after transfusion of cord blood stem cells . A series of bacterial infections has been officially confirmed. Most of these people were treated in orthopedic and pain-relieving clinics, by chiropractors, and they were injected into the spine, knees and shoulders.
