Australia cracks down on unproven stem cell therapies

 

As in the US, unproven stem cell therapies have been marketed in Australia.Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA, similar to US FDA) of the Australian Government tightened regulations around advertising autologous (self) human cell and tissue products.

As of July 1, 2018, these products cannot be marketed to consumers, and adverse events must be reported to the TGA.
