Juan Fernando received his Bachelor’s Degree from St. Ignacio College and his DDS degree in 1992 from Javeriana University School of Dentistry in Bogota. He has served as a Member of the University of Kentucky Faculty in Oral Medicine, Diagnosis and Radiology from 2002 ile 2010. As a result of his interest in public health, he completed a Residency program in Dental Public Health (Baylor College of Dentistry, 2006), a Master’s in Public Health, MPH (University of Kentucky, 2007), and a Doctoral Degree in Public Health, Dr PH (University of Kentucky, 2011). In July of 2014, he accepted a faculty position as an Associate Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is an active member of the American Academy of Oral Medicine, American Medical Association, Hispanic Dental Association, American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, International Association of Dental Research, International Association of Dento‐Maxillo‐Facial Radiology, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and American Dental Association. He is a Reviewer for Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology and Endodontology, Oral Diseases, Dento Maxillo Facial Radiology, Journal of Dental Research and Oncology. He is an author of book (Oral Medicine in the Dental Practice, 2002), participated as a chapter author in 8 books, and authored 26 manuscripts published in peer‐review journals. Nihayet, he has been invited to give 87 lectures nationally and 27 internationally (11 different countries).
